A 6-bottle case we have put together for the more adventurous amongst you. Outstanding wines from lesser-known countries, regions, or grape varieties that will add a bit of the WOW factor to your drinking!
Faust Riesling from Slovenia is a crisp, dry and aromatic wine with a good depth of flavour from a region about 300m above sea level and with a similar climate to New Zealand. Aidani Assyrtiko is from a small family run estate, committed to making outstanding wines. Made from organically grown grapes, the wine is crisp and aromatic with lots of fruit and mineral character not dissimilar to 1er Cru Chablis. The Torrontes from Argentina has ripe spicy fruit and a lovely zippy freshness. The Schmitt Sohne Dornfelder has lovely berry fruit and a very easy going personality. Bourgeuil Castel-Pontonnier a juicy red from the Loire Valley. Crunchy berry fruit and its fresh finish make it as friendly to a Lamb curry as it is lightly chilled with a grilled trout. Lastly we head to the Middle East and Lebanon’s Bekaa Valley. Chateau Ksara recently celebrated 150 years of winemaking and this wine is a delicious blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Petit Verdot.
